Run steam game without updating
I'm temporally on super slow broadband at my parents and want to play a game I got now, not in 10hours :-/ Thanks Answer would be - it depends. Some games require activation, and it might start downloading soon after the activation is over. This I can not do as I have mobile broadband and it costs me an arm and a leg for bandwidth (£15 for 3GB).I believe the update itself was around 2GB as I have not updated it since I bought it (December). Are the no-DVD (no-DRM) fixes in this website safe to use or are they prone to cause issues with Windows? Offline Mode allows you to play games through Steam without reconnecting to the Steam Network every time you wish to play - this is particularly useful if you do not plan on playing over the internet and would prefer not to download new updates for your single-player games.Turning off auto-update was already done, which steam ignored :-/ And it was initially installed from a DVD and then again from my other computers backup disc (which then triggered a new 6GB file download...fail) Thank you for your interest in this question.

Tried it now with and then with Green - starting and logging normally.I've seen this launcher format before, it's a nice tool for you guys to try to sell me other games, BUT in the middle of gameplay (Mass Effect 3) the game suddenly closes with a message saying it's an Origin issue (Origin's not working or connected or something like that). If I've downloaded this single player game information, why do I have to be connected to anything?
